What feeling do you get when you hear or read that word?
A person said to me today, "Work just sucks doesn't it? And the worst part is that we have to do this for the majority of our lives."
I think he has taken the wrong perspective. I think the worst part is that this man doesn't enjoy his work. I think having to work for the most part of our lives is a good thing. It gives us the oppurtunity to dedicate our lives to something meaningful. Something we are passionate about. Something that empowers change and improvement and innovation. Something inspiring. Something awesome.
If we have a vision, if we are committed to fulfilling it, if there lies a greater purpose in our lives, then the amount of time and effort required of us to be medicore in our work (the government standard is 38 hours) can instead be used to produce things outstanding.
If most of the effort has to be made anyway, why not make it count? And if it counts, if it really matters, the extra effort won't be a chore.
